Illegal Immigration
Insight into Arizona’s New Immigration Law - An interview with Rep. Steve King
On April 23, 2010, Arizona enacted a new law requiring law enforcement officers to determine an individual’s immigration status when a reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an illegal alien. Arizona law requires the determination of immigration status only after police have made a “lawful stop, detention or arrest.” President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have both criticized the Arizona law. Political pundits in the media have also made wild, unfounded accusations about what the law requires.
Silent Raids a Start for Immigration Reform, but Who Will Finish?
In an attempt to save face regarding the illegal immigration issue, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency recently began discussing an avenue which they believe shows that they know how to cure the infectious problem. “Silent Raids”, announced as an immense step in immigration reform, is an activity where Federal Enforcement Agents quietly audit employee records of companies for possible illegal immigrants on their payroll.
Lawyer for American Taliban to lead suit against Arizona
Tony West, the man who defended John Walker Lindh, aka: the American Taliban, has been tapped by the Obama Administration to lead the government’s legal challenge against the State of Arizona over their new illegal immigration law. Democrats Debate for Illegal Aliens with 2010 in mind
Even before the primaries, to many the 2010 elections were in full swing. The Tea Party and other activist groups began giving endorsements and pump out press items discussing their objectives. Legislators such as Bart Stupak have responded to plans such as these with their electoral decisions of whether to run or not as well as what party to run with. However, it is the democrats’ plans which were not only previously visible, but also the most questionable. Even before January of 2010, the nation has been aware of what the liberal procedure for keeping control will
Curb illegal immigration by expanding legal alternatives
Voters all across America as well as Arizona are understandably frustrated by the inability of policymakers in Washington to effectively deal with the problem of illegal immigration. Arizona’s tough new law making it a crime to be in the state without proper documentation is drawing cheers, but I predict it will fail to solve the problem and will ultimately only add to the frustration.
Misplaced priorities
Barack Obama’s $3.8 trillion 2010 budget created immediate sticker shock this week with an estimated $1.56 trillion record deficit – breaking his own record $1.4 trillion deficit from 2009. But, there’s a lot more to leave you scratching your head wondering what the priorities of this administration really are.

Stowaways Remain Aboard the Clipper Ship "America"
This giant American economy is like an enormous clipper ship with passengers and crew numbering some 300 million. We are the fastest sailing ship on the high seas, tempest-tossed by gusts and gales, clipping our way through the swells and spray. The crew of the "U.S.S. America," 144 million strong, trims the sails, swabs the deck, cooks in the galley, cares for the sick, bails the bilge, and steers the course.
Senate kills illegal immigration bill
In previous issues and on the blog, A Line of Sight, has focused extensively on the problem of illegal immigration and what ought to be done about it. We have also written about what should not be done, and we're glad the latest attempt by the U.S. Senate failed by a substantial margin. The effort lead by Ted Kennedy and supported by the White House was not only amnesty; it seriously jeopardized the security of the United States.
