The Health Care Fight is Far from Over

While most Americans were enjoying Christmas, the Senate Democrats were able to jam through their health care bill. Republicans fought hard to improve the bill and instill in it some real reform to improve the health care system for all Americans, but at the end of the day we simply didn’t have the votes to stop this train wreck. However, all is not lost.

Lessons from the Heartland about Real Health Care Reform

Mitch Daniels was elected Governor of Indiana in 2004.  He entered office with a wealth of private sector as well as high level political experience dating back to his days as an adviser to President Ronald Reagan.    Daniels introduced a true conservative concept related to providing health care for Indiana state employees when he took office – trust and empower individuals to make their own decisions through optional Health S

Back to the Drawing Board on Healthcare

In his State of the Union address, President Barack Obama doubled down by calling on America to once again trust him. He argued that if we just enact his agenda, we will be happy with it. From taxes to healthcare, from the growing deficit to our national security, President Obama wants to remake America. However, it is clear to me, as it is to millions of Americans, that he intends to continue to read his personal election victory as support for a hard-left agenda the American people did not ratify in the election and don’t want now.

CBO: Cornhusker Kickback for all states would cost $35 billion first three years

Red faced after the national outrage created by the sweetheart deal Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson cut in exchange for his vote for Obamacare, Nelson tried to explain away the selling of his vote by digging the hole he was in even deeper.

ObamaCare: What It Is, What It Isn’t, And Why It Will Fail

In the only debate of the 1980 Presidential campaign, Republican challenger Ronald Reagan turned to Democratic President Jimmy Carter and famously quipped “Well, there you go again”. Carter had just argued passionately for a National Health Insurance plan and an increase in government-run Medicare. Reagan used the quip to underscore the Democrats desire for yet another large government program that would accomplish little while ignoring more common-sense Republican approaches.

Democrats' Health Plan Penalizes Marriage

Broken campaign promises by Barack Obama have become standard-operating-procedure. One of most recent is the phony claim that family health insurance premium "costs will go down by as much as $2,500." The CBO burst that bubble when they reported that the Senate version of ObamaCare "will drive premiums higher," according to the Wall Street Journal.

CNN’s Jack Cafferty on Democrats Closed Door Deals

"Here's hoping the voters remember some of this crap when the midterm elections roll around later this year."

It’s worse than you thought.

Even if you thought you had read everything about the health care bill – read this.

Forever Gone

Editorial, Investor’s Business Daily

Any law can be repealed, but the Democrats' radical health bill contains unprecedented language that could wreck the U.S. health system permanently. It's one of the dirtiest tricks yet.

Defeating a Government Takeover of Health Care

Senate Republicans are united in the belief that a Washington takeover of the nation’s health-care system is bad for the country and must be defeated.

Democratic Leader Harry Reid has written a bill that would radically expand the role of government in Americans’ lives and add several trillion dollars to the nation’s already immense debt. His health-care “reform” bill would raid the financially troubled Medicare system to pay for a new entitlement program and lead to higher taxes, higher premiums, and greater government control of the American health-care system.
