Seizing Health Care Industry not enough for Pelosi
Putting our health in the hands of government bureaucrats and seizing 16 percent of the American economy apparently isn’t a big enough objective for Nancy Pelosi. For some time, the Democrat leadership and Obama Administration has been considering a takeover of the student loan program, forcing future applicants to have but one source – the federal government.
The Democrats are going through gyrations to create a House-Senate scheme to pass ObamaCare. According to Roll Call, “Chief among the topics discussed Wednesday evening was whether to insert the student loan package into the health care reconciliation bill. Pelosi is pushing for it.” The package would ban private companies such as local banks from offering student loans.
Why the student loan program and health care should be combined in one piece of legislation is one big question, but Pelosi, Reid and Obama have a different agenda – power. If she’s successful, Pelosi will mark this down as a “two-for-one” trashing of large private sectors of the economy and consolidating control inside the Washington belt way. So much for freedom.
